Please review the tutorial below before starting the virtual tour.
Getting to the individual placemark: There are two ways to get to a specific place (attraction, lodging, dining, etc.). By clicking on the sysmbol (icon) associated with the placemark you are interested in visiting, Goggle Earth will adjust to that point. If you do not see the particular placemark that you are seeking, you can also click on the placemark in the "Places" directory on the left side of the screen. Features nested in the placemarks: To aide in your travel experience, we have inserted features into the placemarks. There may be more in some placemarks than others depending on the type of place that is being represented and other factors. Placemarks may contain any or all of the following features: 1. Site Name: This is the name of the place represented by the placemark. 2. Site Photograph: In some instances, photographs and/or logos may have been added to the placemark for easy recognition. 3. Site Address and Telephone Number. 4. Web Links: In most instances, links to websites have been placed in the placemark. These links can lead the visitor directly to that places own website or to websites designed to assist the traveler with a specific need. For instance, a lodging placemark may contain a link entitled "Hotel Site" which puts the traveler directly on that particular hotel's web page while a second link entitled "Compare Prices" brings the traveler to a site that shops hotel prices in the area. For sites such as arenas or stadiums, web links to both the venue and the main sports teams playing at said venues may be present. 5. "To here" and "From here": These are the standard Google Earth tools which allow for a person to map a route from one placemark to another. Saving the file to "My Places": The items shown on Google Earth that were created through the www.travelerge.com website are stored in a "Temporary Places" folder. Upon exiting Google Earth, a notice may appear stating that files have not been saved. To do this, click on "File" followed by "Save" then "Save to My Places". This will move the folder to be stored for future use. It is recommended that you reload the folder when returning to the website to obtain any updates. |
